Election Work Coordinator

The MN State Retiree Council will continue to organize phone banks, send postcards, prepare the Retiree Bulletin for a growing list of retirees who receive it by email or by US Mail.  Contact Carol Freeman, freem013@umn.edu, 612-250-7294.

The Retiree Council also works with area labor councils (ALC) and regional labor federations (RLF) on their programs. 

 

  1. East Central ALC will be doing phonebanks every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4-8:00 at 3051 2nd street South Suite 202 Saint Cloud and via Zoom from volunteers’ homes on any day from 10-8:00.  Energetic volunteers can door know during the daylight hours during the week or dive other people around.  ECALC people may volunteer to write postcards for the program organized by the State Retirees Council.  Contact Jane Conrad at jane_conrad@outlook.com
     

  2. Minneapolis RLF: We can train and set up volunteers virtually Mondays, Tuesdays
    or Thursdays at 10:00AM or at 3:00PM.  Email Graeme at graeme@minneapolisunions.org.  On September 8, Minneapolis Regional Retiree Council (MRRC) will kick off phoning their own members and will gather together for their membership meeting on September 15.  Contact Leif Grina, Pres, lecg3130@gmail.com
     

  3. North East ALC: NEALC’s targeted areas are Senate Districts 7 and 3.  They will have a day of action on September 17 for SD7 and on October 1 for SD3.  There will be more coming soon!  Reach out to Lee Cutler at lee@nealcmn.org
     

  4. St. Paul RLF: In September, action will be expanded to door knocks and phoning on Tuesdays thru Thursdays, and door knocks Saturdays starting September 10.  Reach out to Colleen Nocerini at cnocerini@stpaulunions.org
     

  5. South East ALC: The Council Retiree Club (RC) will begin Phone Banks/Post Card events Thursday, September 8, 1:00 PM and every Thursday thereafter until the election.  Location:  Red Wing Labor Center, 319 ½ West 3rd St., Red Wing, MN.  Reach out to Bruce Yernberg, chronicle4u@hotmail.com  Launch September 6, for SEALC, reach out to Leah Midgarden at lmidgarden@semnalc.org
     

  6. West ALC: The WALC will be phone banking and door-knocking every Wednesday from 5-8 from now until the election at the Fargo-Moorhead Labor Temple (3002 1st Ave N. Fargo, ND) or virtually if you contact Andrew ahead of time.   They will also be hosting Moorhead Door-knocks for labor endorsed candidates on September 24 and October 22 starting at 10am from 2020 N 7th Ave, Moorhead.  Reach out to Andrew Bushaw at abushaw@ndaflcio.org
